On June 26th, 2023, we gathered at the Brooklyn ArtHaus to celebrate independent theater artists. Actor/singer/writer Joanna Parson interviewed honorees and created an original song to close out the evening. Shalewa Sharpe emcees. ASL interpretation provided by Inclusive Communication Services.

The NYIT Awards, presented by the League of Independent Theaters, focus on a celebration of the resiliency of the indie theater community with the non-production based Honorary Awards. This year's honorees include: Indie Theater Champion Award - Chisa Hutchinson Outstanding Stage Manager Award - Heather Olmstead Ellen Stewart Award - Kelley Nicole Girod Caffe Cino Fellowship Award - Brownstone Steps Entertainment Artistic Achievement Award - Everett Quinton, accepted by Tom Quinton.
